On Sunday, February 15, Moscow has been under attack from unknown drones almost since early morning. Airports in the Russian capital were closed, and falling debris was also recorded, according to Russian Telegram channels.
Based on posts by Moscow mayor Sergey Sobyanin, the attack on the capital began at approximately 11:40 a.m. and lasted at least until 4:10 p.m.
During this time, Sobyanin reported the alleged destruction of 18 drones, while emergency service workers continuously headed to the sites where debris had fallen.
According to statements by Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency, the Domodedovo and Vnukovo airports were temporarily restricted due to the threat of a drone attack. From approximately 3:40 p.m. to 4:40 p.m., at least the former did not receive or dispatch flights, while the latter operated only in coordination with the relevant authorities.
Meanwhile, footage from Moscow and the Moscow region continues to circulate on public pages, showing what appears to be the ongoing drone attack.

According to the Russian ministry of defense, Russian air defense systems between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. allegedly shot down 102 drones over the Bryansk, Kaluga, Tula, and Moscow regions.
Drone attacks on Moscow
On New Year’s Eve, from December 31 to January 1, Moscow was also attacked by drones. Sobyanin reported drones being shot down, and the Domodedovo airport in the capital was closed. The attack, apparently, was taking place during the New Year’s address by Kremlin head Vladimir Putin.
Moscow and its suburbs were also attacked by drones on the night of December 15. At that time, the Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports were temporarily closed in the capital.
