Moscow says it has launched a missile strike on Ukrainian cities in response to the Ukrainian shelling of energy facilities in Russia, according to the Russian military ministry.

"In the morning, in response to attempts to damage Russian energy and economic facilities, a group strike was launched against Ukrainian military industry facilities and air bases of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the purpose of the strike was achieved," the military department said.

On June 8, Russia launched several missile strikes against Ukraine. The most powerful was at around 9:40 am. Russia used 40 missiles of various types. As of now, it is known about 21 people killed and 68 injured.

Russia struck the Okhmatdyt children's hospital in Kyiv, killing two people. There may be people under the rubble.

As President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, Russia knows exactly where its missiles are flying and must be fully accountable for all its crimes. According to him, the world must not stay silent about that.
