Morning rituals to boost your mood and set you up for successful day
Morning is a great time to set yourself up for a productive and successful day. There are three things you can do to start your workday off on the right foot, citing Real Simple.
Avoid your phone
Writer and founder of the "Be Bigger with Less" community, Courtney Carver, shared that most people immediately grab their phones after waking up.
However, scrolling through social media not only steals precious time that could be better spent on things that truly satisfy, but it also overloads your mind.
It’s important to give yourself the chance to experience those morning feelings and realize that nothing significant happens during the time you refrain from picking up your phone. Then, you’ll understand that everything can be caught up on later.
By avoiding your phone in the morning, over time, your anxiety will decrease. You’ll realize it’s better to focus on your own needs and set the tone for the day, rather than diving into the world of information. This will make it much easier to handle any negative situations.
Morning meditation
Try waking up a few minutes earlier and start your day with yoga or meditation.
Meditation helps reduce stress and anxiety levels. It allows you to release tension and focus on the present moment, improving emotional control. You’ll feel an uplift in your mood and a reduction in depression.
Also, find a few minutes to breathe in fresh air and soak up natural daylight. Exposure to natural light is important for good well-being.
Planning ahead
Prepare the night before. Check the weather and choose your outfit. Keep your keys, phone, and other essential items in one place so you can easily grab them in the morning.
Also, use vibration mode instead of loud ringtones, which can startle you and make you jump out of bed.
