Money down the drain. Pediatrician names 5 tests that should never be taken

Some tests should never be taken because they do not provide any information about the body. They can cause unnecessary anxiety or even lead to incorrect diagnoses, says Ukrainian pediatrician Diana Protokovylo.
5 uninformative tests
Fecal test for dysbiosis
According to the doctor, there is no such test anywhere in the world. There is also no standard that would confirm what is normal and what is dysbiosis.
The bacteria in the intestines change depending on the time of day, diet, and other factors. Fecal samples may not reflect the full picture of the microflora.
Blood test for the determination of immunoglobulins G to foods when allergies are suspected
This test is also useless. That's because these antibodies only indicate that the child and his or her immune system have come into contact with this food product. Therefore, it does not indicate an allergy, but only contact.
Scraping for a demodex tick
This test is very popular, especially for adults.
In fact, this condition does not require treatment when this mite is found in the skin, because it lives there normally. Treatment is only necessary if there are any manifestations of the disease.
Hair analysis for trace elements
"The price of the test is high, and there are zero answers," the pediatrician explained.
Deficiencies in the body need to be looked for in the blood.
In addition, external factors such as environmental pollution, cosmetics, stress, or treatment can affect the composition of the hair, which can distort the results of the analysis.
There are no uniform standards and methods for analyzing hair for trace elements, which can lead to different results in different laboratories.
Comprehensive blood count on the first day of fever
This test is also not worth taking, because there will be no changes.
It's best to contact a competent specialist who will save your finances and refer you only to the necessary examinations.
