Moldova’s Sandu party takes lead with 90% of votes counted

In Moldova, where parliamentary elections were held on September 28, the Central Electoral Commission has counted over 90% of the ballots, according to the official website of the CEC of Moldova.
Based on the count of 91% of the ballots, President Maia Sandu’s party is in the lead.
- The ruling party, Action and Solidarity (PAS), has 46.46%.
- The pro-Russian Patriotic Bloc has 26.74%.
Other parties, such as Alternative, PPDA, and Our Party, received between 5.6% and 8.6% of the votes. All other parties have 1% or less.
Moldova elections
Moldova is electing 101 members of parliament, and the September 28 elections were held under the new Electoral Code. Around 2,000 polling stations opened in the country, with another 300 operating abroad.
Russia is using all possible means to influence the election results by promoting Kremlin-controlled political forces.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that if pro-Russian forces enter Moldova’s parliament, it could pose risks for everyone.
