Iran’s new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has issued his first instructions to state officials, calling on them to continue their work in accordance with the directives of his late father, BBC reports.

According to the report, in his address, he urged officials to remain in their positions and continue working in accordance with previously established directives.

"I hereby announce that, for the present, none of them requires the renewal of their appointment. It is crucial that they continue their work in accordance with the directives received during the lifetime of Ayatollah Khamenei," Iran's new Supreme Leader's message says.

Khamenei, who was chosen as his father’s successor on March 8, has not yet appeared in public. Since his appointment, he has not been seen in any videos or photographs.

On March 13, the United States announced a $10 million reward for information about Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, and the leaders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

At the same time, US President Donald Trump expressed doubts that Khamenei is alive, noting that he has not appeared in public so far.

Following this, rumors spread in the media that the new Iranian leader is allegedly in Moscow, where he is receiving treatment for injuries sustained during US and Israeli strikes. According to unconfirmed reports, he may be staying at one of the Kremlin’s residences.
