Modi calls on Putin to end 'endless war'

Indian leader delivers a powerful message of peace from "the land of Gandhi and the land of Buddha" during his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Bishkek.
Modi calls for peace
During his conversation with Putin, Modi said that the world must finally choose peace.
"We must move away from endless war towards an end to the war," the Indian prime minister told the Russian President.
He believes that every day spent at war pushes humanity backward, while every step toward peace fills it with "new hope and new enthusiasm."
"This is essential for the well-being of humanity. A peaceful resolution to all issues at the earliest is the call of humanity, and this is India’s message," Modi said.

Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that Indian refineries were forced to cut back on Russian oil imports from elevated levels. The main reason was Ukraine's successful strikes on Russian infrastructure, which significantly disrupted export shipments.
It was also reported that after an Indian citizen was killed aboard the MV OMORFI merchant vessel, New Delhi issued an official diplomatic demand to the Ukrainian side.
In addition, Russia faced diplomatic protests from three countries within just ten days. India lodged a strong protest over a Russian missile strike on the MV Golden Leo bulk carrier near the port of Odesa, which killed four Indian citizens.
