Train travel can be an amazing experience, offering breathtaking sceneries as you traverse different parts of the world. However, there are mistakes that travelers should avoid during their railway journeys, according to HuffPost.

Overpacking

Compared to air travel, a train journey can be more relaxing. It's advisable to pack your luggage as compactly as possible.

You can bring as much as you can carry, and there are no restrictions on luggage in the vast majority of trains. However, bear in mind that you'll need to carry it onto the train and find space in the luggage racks.

Insufficient food

Another common mistake during train travel is assuming there's enough food for a long journey on the train.

They might run out of your favorite dish in these restaurant cars or there might not be anything you'd want to eat.

There are no restrictions on bringing your own food and drinks onboard, so do it.

Strong-smelling food

It's important to pack enough food for yourself, but be mindful of what you plan to eat on the train.

You can bring food with you, but make sure it doesn't have a strong smell.

Encroaching on other passengers' space

Even if you're on vacation, it's not advisable to be noisy. Respect your fellow travelers' space and keep your belongings slightly away from others.

Never place your bags and belongings on empty seats if they could belong to someone.

Disrespecting the crew

Always respect the train crew. Remember, their job is to safely get you to your destination, and many things are beyond their control.

It's okay to make mistakes, but it's unacceptable to blame others for you not familiarizing yourself with the details of your journey.

Traveling without a Power Bank

You can't always rely on there being enough working sockets on trains. So, if you're embarking on a long journey, make sure your phone is fully charged and there's a way to recharge it.

Bring a Power Bank in case your phone dies and there are no sockets on the train.

Being noisy

It's better to minimize phone usage during the journey to avoid discomfort for everyone.

Avoid loud phone calls and pay attention to the noise level to create a more pleasant atmosphere.

If someone is bothering you, seek help from a crew member, as they are trained to handle complex situations.
