Missile attack hits Belgorod, infrastructure damaged as outages expected

Belgorod and the surrounding district were hit by a large-scale missile strike. Significant infrastructure damage has caused partial blackouts in the city, along with disruptions to water and heating supply.
Russian media reported the incident.

Footage circulating on public channels shows the missile strike on Belgorod, with car alarms sounding, explosions heard and flashes visible following the impacts.
Witnesses said the city was largely in darkness, with light coming mainly from vehicle headlights.
Belgorod region governor Vyacheslav Gladkov confirmed the missile attack, saying the city and surrounding district were subjected to heavy shelling that caused significant damage to energy infrastructure and disruptions to electricity, water, and heating supplies.
He said the full scale of the damage would be assessed later, with emergency services working on-site and information about the consequences still being clarified.
Some public channels reported that the Frunzenskaya electrical substation may have been damaged in the strike, publishing footage allegedly showing the site after the impact.
At 00:02 AM, public channels published footage that allegedly shows a missile striking the Belgorod thermal power plant.
Previous attacks on Belgorod
Belgorod has periodically come under attack, including drone and missile strikes. For example, on February 7 the city was hit by unidentified missiles, after which a blackout was reported.
A few days earlier, on February 5, another missile strike caused widespread outages across the region, affecting electricity, heating, and water supply.
On February 14, reports said energy infrastructure damage left parts of Belgorod without heating and hot water at least until the end of the heating season.
