Missile and drone attacks reported: Air defense in Crimea and Russian regions on high alert
On the evening of Monday, January 13, Russia reported large-scale attacks in several regions. Explosions were heard in Bryansk and Belgorod, and air defense systems were active in occupied Crimea, according to the Telegram channel of the occupation governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhayev, the Telegram channel of the Belgorod city administration, and RIA Novosti.
Situation in Crimea
Around 8:00 p.m. Kyiv time, an air raid alert was declared in Crimea. It lasted for nearly an hour; however, Razvozhayev did not disclose any details.
At the same time, local Telegram channels initially reported a missile strike threat. Unknown missiles were allegedly spotted in Feodosia, Sudak, Sevastopol, and Kerch. Additionally, Russia claimed there was an attack on the Crimean Bridge, causing its traffic to be temporarily suspended.
Later, reports from Crimea mentioned complaints about an attack by unidentified drones.
Explosions in Bryansk region
This evening, a series of powerful explosions also occurred in the Bryansk region. According to locals, at least 10 explosions were heard in the sky over Bryansk.
The regional governor claimed that air defense forces allegedly detected and destroyed a fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicle over the region. However, other Russian reports suggested that the region was allegedly under attack by ATACMS missiles, with locals hearing over 30 explosions.
According to him, there are no casualties or damage. Emergency and response services are working at the scene.
Andrii Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), also shared a video of the explosions in Bryansk.
"Bryansk is rumbling," he wrote.
Explosions in Belgorod region
As usual, Russia reported the successful operation of air defense systems in the Belgorod region. Initially, missiles were allegedly shot down, but later the region came under attack by unidentified drones.
Attacks on Russian oil refineries
Recently, Russia also reported an attack in the Volgograd region, where another enemy oil refinery is located.
Additionally, during the night of January 8, explosions were heard in the Russian city of Engels. Local authorities and residents reported a drone attack and the operation of air defense systems.
