Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a conversation with his Czech counterpart, Petr Pavel. They discussed the newly created Ministry of National Unity, according to Zelenskyy's post on Telegram.
According to Zelenskyy, they discussed in detail the opportunities for allies to train Ukrainian military brigades, following the example of France and the United States.
They also discussed the Czech initiative for supplying artillery shells and the defense needs of our country.
"We discussed the possibility of opening a representation of the newly created Ministry of National Unity in Czechia," Zelenskyy wrote.
Ministry of Unity
In August of this year, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the creation of the Ministry of Unity, which aims to unite Ukrainians abroad and counter Russian propaganda.
The main task of the new ministry is to support Ukrainian communities abroad and protect national interests. Zelenskyy noted that a more active role of the state is needed to meet their educational and cultural needs, as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs alone will not be able to ensure this.
Later, Zelenskyy stated that the new ministry could be established by the fall of 2024. In early December, it was announced that Oleksii Chernyshov would head the Ministry of National Unity of Ukraine.
