Military quarters in Belgium have increased security measures due to possible sabotage
Several military bases in Belgium have been put on high alert. This is a security measure due to possible sabotage, reports The Brussels Times.
The Belgian Ministry of Defense has confirmed that security measures were stepped up at several army quarters in Belgium on Friday, October 11, following reports of possible sabotage and espionage threats.
In this regard, the security level in several military quarters was raised from the basic Alpha level to Bravo, the second of four possible levels of protection, each of which has specific measures.
The increased threat level entails additional security measures, especially for security personnel in the respective barracks, but details cannot be disclosed for security reasons.
Not only Belgium is preparing for possible sabotage.
Yesterday, RBC-Ukraine reported that due to threats of sabotage by special forces specializing in counterterrorism, German special forces GSG 9 will be deployed to the Baltic. They will be responsible for protecting underwater infrastructure in the Baltic and North Seas.
