In Germany, near the city of Grimma, a military helicopter crashed into a river. Rescuers are working at the scene, n-tv reports.

According to media reports, the helicopter disappeared from the radar between 10:00 and 10:30 local time. Around 11:30, boaters informed the police that they had found helicopter debris in the water.

Currently, there is no information about possible casualties or injuries. However, the pilot is considered missing. The helicopter belongs to the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr - ed.).

It is also known that a large amount of fuel leaked at the scene. The wreckage is located in the middle of the river, making it difficult to reach.

About 50 rescuers have been deployed to deal with the aftermath. They must first collect the fuel before starting rescue operations. Military personnel are also working at the site.

A week ago, a Bundeswehr Air Force aircraft from the government squadron was forced to make an emergency landing at Leipzig airport due to an unexpected technical malfunction.
