Migrant attacks border guard at Poland–Belarus border

Earlier this week at the Poland–Belarus border, three migrants from Afghanistan attempted to cross the river, according to RMF24.
According to Polish law enforcement, three undocumented migrants from Afghanistan tried to cross the border river to enter Poland. One of the migrants became aggressive and attempted to attack a border guard, who in response fired a shot from a smoothbore firearm loaded with rubber bullets.
The two other migrants retreated after the incident and returned to the Belarusian side. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances.
Earlier this month it was announced Poland will reinstate border controls with Germany and Lithuania to help combat illegal migration.
Previously, we reported that Poland's right-wing PiS party submitted a bill to the Sejm to tighten rules for foreigners seeking Polish passports, citing "migration threats," including a rise in crimes committed by non-nationals.
