On the night of November 9-10, a Mi-24 assault helicopter was set ablaze in Russia. It was located at the Klin-5 air base in the Moscow region, according to Defense Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU).

The helicopter belonged to the 92nd squadron of the 344th Center for combat use and retraining of army aviation flight personnel of the Russian armed forces.

"The DIU reminds that for every war crime committed against Ukraine, the occupier will face fair punishment," the statement reads.

Mi-24

The Mi-24 is a multi-purpose attack helicopter developed in the USSR by the Mil Design Bureau in the late 1960s and launched into production in 1971. Its unique feature is the combination of combat and transport capabilities, allowing it to carry up to eight paratroopers.

The Mi-24 is designed to perform tasks supporting ground forces, conducting reconnaissance, and providing medical evacuation.

DIU operations

Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Ukrainian intelligence has conducted numerous operations on the aggressor’s territory, aimed at weakening its military and political potential.

Ukrainian intelligence conducts these actions as part of hybrid warfare, utilizing reconnaissance methods, sabotage, and information campaigns. Such operations involve drones, cyberattacks, explosions at facilities as well as strikes on key logistics points, fuel depots, railways, and air bases.

Some of the most significant DIU operations on Russian territory were collected in RBC-Ukraine’s report.
