Mascherano’s team suffers crucial draw
Despite an early goal from their captain, Inter Miami could not hold onto the lead. In the 74th minute, the opponents equalized – 1:1. Since the first leg had ended scoreless (0:0), Nashville advanced under the tournament’s away-goal rule.
For Javier Mascherano’s squad, this elimination was a painful blow, as the club was considered one of the favorites in the CONCACAF Champions League. Now, the Floridians will focus on the MLS domestic season.
Future of the legend
It’s worth noting that Messi recently extended his contract with Inter Miami until 2028.
This summer, Lionel also plans to defend the World Cup title with Argentina in what will be his final World Cup tournament.
Earlier, it was reported that a star player from the Ukrainian national team, who once played alongside Messi, announced his retirement.
