Messi and Busquets try on 'Inter Miami' shirts: video presentation
The outsider of the North American Major League Soccer (MLS), Inter Miami, has presented two star newcomers this summer – seven-time Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi and 2010 World Cup champion Sergio Busquets, according to the club's official Twitter account.
The former leaders of FC Barcelona have finally completed their moves to the ranks of Inter Miami. The club's management, led by David Beckham, participated in a grand presentation ceremony for the stars.
Busquets and Messi received their jerseys from the former England national team captain. Both players will wear their familiar numbers – the Spaniard will wear number 5, while the Argentine forward will play under the number 10. The veterans will not have much time to acclimate, as Inter Miami finds itself at the bottom of the MLS.
Inter Miami currently occupies the last position in the Eastern Conference of the MLS. They have only accumulated 18 points and are 12 points behind the playoff zone. The team is on an 11-match winless streak (3 draws, 8 defeats).
Previously, Inter Miami revealed the financial details of Messi's contract. The newcomer's deal will cost 50-60 million dollars annually. A major MLS deal with Apple made the signing of the agreement with the striker possible.
