A large-scale fire broke out in the Russian city of Taganrog on the morning of Sunday, November 9. Afterward, residents began reporting problems with communication, electricity, and water supply, according to Russian media.
In particular, footage circulating on social media shows a column of smoke rising above the city. Eyewitnesses said that in some districts of Taganrog, the power went out and there was no mobile connection. People complained that they had not been warned about the outages.
Local Telegram channels suggest that the fire may have broken out at a transformer of the “T-25” substation (110/35/6 kilovolts).
According to the Russian state propaganda agency TASS, an emergency shutdown of a high-voltage power line was implemented in the city, leaving several districts without electricity.
Earlier, residents of Russia’s Voronezh were frightened by flashes in the sky during the night of November 9. Around 3:40 a.m., a missile threat was declared in the Voronezh region.
Local residents were advised to take shelter in rooms without windows and with solid walls, and if they were outdoors — to enter the nearest building or shelter.
