Massive fire engulfs Yekaterinburg factory
A large-scale fire broke out at the Polistirol-Bud factory in Yekaterinburg, Russia. The blaze engulfed the polystyrene production workshop, reports Astra.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Sverdlovsk region, the fire covers an area of 1,500 square meters. The site is being handled by 62 rescuers and 22 units of equipment.
The polystyrene production workshop is located near Koltsovo Airport. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
Local residents have been advised to keep windows closed, drink plenty of water, rinse their eyes, nose, and throat, and only go outside wearing masks or respirators. Russian emergency services have also reported one injury.
Reports online suggest that Russians use expanded polyethylene produced at the facility to shield against thermal imaging, while other materials are employed in manufacturing drone components.
Attacks on oil refineries in Russia
Ukrainian forces have carried out dozens of operations, targeting Russian oil refineries and oil depots. The defenders are attacking facilities that support the Russian army and provide fuel to occupation forces.
According to the Foreign Intelligence Service, three Russian refineries have partially halted operations. The reason for this is unfinished repairs. Russians were unable to complete the repair work in October due to sanctions.
