Massive fire breaks out on tanker off Sochi coast in Russia

According to eyewitnesses, the burning vessel is located in the waters near the port of Sochi. Thick smoke from the fire is visible from the shore at a considerable distance.

The vessel is reportedly an oil tanker. Due to a leak of flammable materials, the fire engulfed not only the vessel itself, but also the surface of the water around it.

Social media reports suggest the vessel may have caught fire as a result of an attack by uncrewed surface vessels or strike drones.

There is currently no official information about the cause of the fire or any possible casualties or fatalities.
