Major blackout hits Georgia for the third time in two weeks

A blackout has hit Tbilisi and most regions of Georgia for the third time in two weeks. The Tbilisi Metro has come to a complete halt, while rail services have also been disrupted, according to Report and social media reports.
Power suddenly went out in the Georgian capital and most regions of the country at around 8:15 p.m. local time.
So far, neither the authorities nor relevant agencies have provided an official explanation for the large-scale outage.
The blackout brought public transport and rail services to a halt. The Tbilisi Metro, in particular, completely suspended operations due to the loss of power.
Georgia's railway operator also temporarily stopped train services, with disruptions reported on several routes.
Social media users reported that water supply in Tbilisi would be unavailable for several hours because pumping stations had lost power.
Later, reports emerged that electricity had been partially restored in Tbilisi, with power returning to the Vera, Vake, Dighomi, and Saburtalo districts. However, most of the capital remained without electricity. Power was also reportedly restored in Kutaisi, Mtskheta, and Saguramo.
Blackouts in Georgia
On the night of July 24, Georgia experienced a major blackout that left Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi, Kobuleti, Telavi, and several other cities without electricity.
Some regions also reported disruptions to mobile communications, internet services, and traffic lights.
The following day, July 25, the country suffered another major power system failure. At around 8:00 a.m. local time, electricity again went out in Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi, and other populated areas.
The emergency outages on July 24 and 25 are being investigated as part of a criminal case under charges of sabotage.
