Macron: Agreement on security commitments for Ukraine to be valid for 10 years
The agreement on security commitments for Ukraine, which was signed with France today, February 16, will be valid for 10 years, says the President of France Emmanuel Macron at a joint press conference with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"I want to assure you that France is ready for long-term support. We signed a 10-year agreement that will be valid until Ukraine joins NATO," Macron said.
According to him, France has committed to contribute 6 billion euros in addition to military needs. Such assistance should strengthen Ukraine's ability to defend itself.
Macron also assured that France will continue to support Ukraine in the fields of equipment supply, military training and civilian aid.
The president added that his country is ready to strengthen its defense and industrial base for the benefit of European defense.
Agreement on security commitments
Today, February 16, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived on a visit to France.
He has already met with President Emmanuel Macron. The leaders signed an agreement on security commitments for Ukraine.
