Longevity expert names alcohol that extends life

A longevity expert has named an amazing drink that, according to him, can extend your life by years. You will be surprised because it is alcohol, reports Surrey Live.
What a longevity expert advises to drink
Longevity expert Dan Buettner has made a name for himself studying blue zones. These are parts of the world where people live much longer and healthier than average and include Loma Linda in California, Ikaria in Greece, Okinawa in Japan, Sardinia in Italy, and Nicoya in Costa Rica.
Dan discussed the controversial topic of whether alcohol can be healthy at all.
He said that people in the "blue zones" drink high-quality red wine. According to him, a moderate amount of wine can increase years of life.
Is wine good for you
Scientists disagree on whether wine can be good for you or not. Harvard Health says that this argument gained support in the 1980s because of something known as the "French Paradox." This refers to the idea that wine consumption could explain the relatively low rate of cardiovascular disease among the French, despite their affinity for cheese and other rich, fatty foods.
This led scientists to discover polyphenols, a category of compounds naturally found in plant foods such as fruits, vegetables, herbs, spices, tea, dark chocolate, and wine, which work as antioxidants in the body.
Some studies strongly suggest that diets rich in polyphenols may provide protection against the development of certain types of cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and neurodegenerative diseases.
However, according to Dr. Kenneth Mukamala, there is little evidence that drinking red wine, in particular, can help avoid heart disease.
He says that the health effects of alcohol have never been tested in long-term randomized trials, and studies showing that people who drink moderate amounts of alcohol have lower rates of cardiovascular disease are only observational and do not prove cause and effect.
