Lithuania's president criticizes Slovak PM for visiting Moscow: 'How cheap is your love?'
Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda criticized Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico for visiting Moscow and meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“How cheap is your love? There are those who come to Russia with love and feel gassed to meet a war criminal. This is not Lithuania's way. We choose energy independence and real market prices - with no political strings attached!” Nausėda wrote on X.
Fico's visit to Moscow
On December 22, Russian media reported on Fico's visit to Moscow and his meeting with Russian leader Putin. Earlier, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said that such a visit was possible, citing his own sources. According to him, the purpose of the talks could be a gas transit.
Details of the meeting remain unknown, as the Russian side did not provide any specific information. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov suggested that the topic of discussion between Fico and Putin was probably gas transit.
According to Fico, the visit was a response to Ukraine's reluctance to continue transiting Russian gas to Europe.
