One of the most decorated heavyweight boxers in history, Lennox Lewis, has spoken out about the upcoming rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois in an interview with the YouTube channel Frank Warren's Queensberry Promotions.

Lewis's prediction for Usyk vs. Dubois 2

The former undisputed world champion, who held all the major belts back in 1999, emphasized that Dubois has made significant progress over the past year and is now ready for a major victory.

"I'm thinking he's ready. You know, he's been through the trials and tribulations. He's the king's slayer, and he's got the power. He's been there before, so he knows he was just there. He knocked the guy down. So, he knows what he needs to do. So, it would be great for him to do it. Another man does it for Great Britain," said Lewis.

However, the Brit admits that "it's not an easy task."

"It's not an easy task, but he's definitely the man that can uh go through with it. He's done the work. He's gone through the pedigree, and he's a certified champion. So, you know, I think he, you know, he has big hopes on doing it. He's going to do it," the former athlete added.

Usyk remains the leader of the heavyweight division

As a reminder, Oleksandr Usyk became the undisputed world champion in May 2024 after defeating Tyson Fury and adding the WBC title to his collection (which already included the WBO, WBA, and IBF belts).

Later, the Ukrainian vacated the IBF title to stage a rematch with Fury, which he also won in December. Now, in England, Usyk will have another chance to reclaim the IBF belt.

Dubois's winning streak

Since losing to Usyk in August 2023, Dubois has secured three consecutive victories, knocking out Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgović, and Anthony Joshua.

This convinced Lewis that his compatriot is ready to win the rematch, which is already being dubbed the "Fight of the Century."

A victory over Usyk could mark the peak of Dubois's rise over the past two years. However, tougher challenges may lie ahead: Joseph Parker, Dereck Chisora, and other top-tier heavyweight fighters.

Usyk vs. Dubois 2: Date, time, and location

The rematch is set for Saturday, July 19, 2025. It will take place at Wembley Stadium in London.

However, the night's main event will begin on July 20, around midnight Kyiv time.

The bout will most likely be broadcast on MEGOGO. At least, the media platform has streamed all of Usyk's recent major fights.
