What proceeded this

On September 19, Azerbaijan announced the beginning of "local anti-terrorist operations" in Nagorno-Karabakh. An operation by the Azerbaijani army commenced in the region. In response, Armenia refused to send its army to the area.

The people of Armenia strongly criticized the government, particularly Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Protests erupted on the streets of Yerevan, and Azerbaijan's operation concluded within a day.
