In the Shevchenko district of the capital, emergency rescue operations have concluded following a sustained enemy attack that began on December 29th, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

According to the ministry, during the operations, 4,070 cubic meters of destroyed building structures were moved and removed.

"In Kyiv, 30 people lost their lives, including 1 person who passed away in the hospital," added the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Most extensive shelling in Ukraine since February 24, 2022

On Friday, December 29th, Russia carried out the most extensive missile strike on Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale war.

As a result of the enemy attack:

  • 18 populated areas in 10 regions were affected;
  • 170 people were injured;
  • 53 people lost their lives;
  • 22 people were rescued.

Overall, across Ukraine, 158 enemy targets were launched, and air defense forces managed to destroy 114 objects - 87 cruise missiles and 27 drones.
