Up to ten attack drones launched by Russian forces to strike the Ukrainian capital were shot down in the airspace around Kyiv overnight on November 16. No casualties were reported in the city following the attack, according to Serhii Popko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration.

The official noted that the air raid alert in Kyiv lasted nearly three hours.

"During this time, defense forces detected and neutralized up to ten enemy UAVs in the airspace around the city," he stated.

Aftermath of an enemy air attack

Popko reported that the attack, which involved the use of attack drones, caused damage to residential infrastructure in Kyiv's Obolonskyi district.

"Falling debris damaged balconies and windows in a multi-story residential building," he said.

The official added that no reports of injuries had been received.

Shahed drone attack

The Kyiv City Military Administration also highlighted that a Russian airstrike involving drones continues in the Kyiv region and neighboring areas.

"The UAVs could change course toward Kyiv. Please follow air raid alerts and stay safe!" urged the administration head.

On the evening of November 15, Russian forces launched another wave of kamikaze drones across Ukraine for airstrikes. The enemy's Shahed drones entered Ukrainian airspace in multiple groups and from various directions.

Later, reports confirmed the operation of air defense systems in Kyiv and the region, where explosions were heard amid the Russian drone assault.

According to the city authorities, falling debris from enemy drones damaged a residential building in Kyiv's Obolonskyi district during the attack.
