Kyiv high-rise reportedly burned after Russian ballistic missile attack

Russian forces struck the capital with ballistic missiles on the night of August 5, with the Obolonskyi district among those affected. A fire broke out in a 20-story residential building there, according to a post by the Kyiv City Military Administration.
Attack on Obolonskyi district
"At another location in Obolonskyi district, a fire broke out in a 20-story residential building. Emergency services are responding," the administration's press service reported shortly after midnight.
Additionally, another fire was reported on the territory of a residential building in Obolon, and warehouse facilities at two addresses also caught fire.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, for his part, wrote about a strike on non-residential premises in Obolonskyi district, as well as a hit on an office building.

In addition, as of 1:24 am Kyiv time, the affected districts included Sviatoshynskyi and Desnianskyi districts, with rocket debris causing damage in some areas.
Klitschko also reported a large fire in the capital's suburbs, in the Kyiv-Sviatoshynskyi district, where non-residential buildings caught fire.

Later, the mayor refuted the information previously announced by the authorities about a fire in a 20-story residential building in Obolon.
"Information about a fire in a 20-story residential building on Obolon has not been confirmed," his Telegram channel reads.
The enemy struck Kyiv with ballistic missiles on the night of August 5. Explosions were heard, and numerous fires have been reported.
As is known, the Kyiv region also remains in the crosshairs of Russian forces, which is why news of consequences continues to emerge not only from the capital but also from the surrounding region.
