Kyiv apartment burns as Russian night attack causes structural collapse

Russian forces once again attempted to strike Kyiv overnight on 29 August and into the early morning of the same day. The attack damaged residential buildings and caused an apartment fire, according to the Telegram channel of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
According to emergency services, both incidents occurred in the Sviatoshynskyi district. During the night, the Russian attack sparked a fire in an apartment on one of the floors of a residential building. No casualties were reported.
"Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze, preventing it from spreading to neighbouring apartments. The floors between the apartment and the roof were also destroyed," the statement read.

In the early morning, Russian forces made another attempt to strike Kyiv. The State Emergency Service reported that the Sviatoshynskyi district was once again targeted, damaging residential buildings and an administrative facility in a private sector area.
"At the scene, rescuers assisted a woman who was trapped inside her home due to a deformed front door, and carried out a thorough search of the area," the post added.
Emergency services said that two residents of one of the buildings sought medical attention from ambulance crews. Meanwhile, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko wrote on his Telegram channel that the two injured individuals received medical assistance on site.
