Kstovo plant halts operations after drone strike
A refinery in Kstovo, located in Russia's Nizhny Novgorod region, halted operations after a drone attack on January 29, according to the ASTRA Telegram channel.
"The SIBUR-Kstovo plant, which was struck by drones on January 29, switched its main facilities to backup mode," the statement said.
Additionally, product shipments have been temporarily suspended. The plant is currently assessing the damage and conducting repairs.
ASTRA also reported that as a result of the Ukrainian strike, the ethylene and propylene production unit EP-300 caught fire.
Drone attack on Kstovo
Explosions were heard in Kstovo on the night of January 29, with reports of drones being spotted in the area. Initially, it was not ruled out that an oil refinery was hit where a fire broke out.
Later, RBC-Ukraine's sources confirmed that the attack on the Kstovo oil depot was an operation carried out by the Defense intelligence of Ukraine. Four hits were confirmed at the oil depot.
