Following France's ballistic missile test, the Kremlin accused Europe of militarization but stated that Russia remains open to dialogue, according to Reuters.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov described this approach as a dead end, stating that European security policy is increasingly focused on militarization.

"They are building their identity in the field of defence and security on the basis of confrontation with the Russian Federation. This is a dead end path. As history shows, it leads to nothing good," Peskov said.

According to him, Russia received prior notification from France regarding the test. The Kremlin representative described the launch as yet another example of what he claims is Europe's obsession with militarization.

Despite his criticism of the French test, Peskov stated that Moscow remains ready for dialogue.

He noted that while Russia is in a state of readiness, it considers negotiations to be the best way to resolve disputes.

"We believe that any problems should be resolved not through demonstrative missile launches, but through dialogue," the Kremlin spokesperson concluded.

A day earlier, France launched a ballistic missile from a submarine off the coast of Brittany.

French President Emmanuel Macron described the test as a message sent loudly and clearly to where it needs to be received. At the same time, the French leader did not explicitly name Russia as the intended recipient of this signal.
