Russian president's spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov, announced a pause in negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, according to Russian media.

The Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said that for now, "one can speak of a pause in the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, although the communication channels of the negotiating groups remain open."

He added that people should not wear rose-colored glasses and expect quick results, as the negotiation process requires time and gradual progress.

Peskov also accused European leaders of allegedly "interfering with efforts to achieve peace in Ukraine."

Negotiations between Russia and Ukraine

Earlier, Peskov assured that Putin "does not rule out" the possibility of a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. According to him, such a meeting could take place if the necessary work is completed at the expert level.

The Russian president has also expressed readiness for peace negotiations with Ukraine, but on his own terms.

However, Moscow seems to be delaying the process. The Kremlin constantly finds reasons why a meeting is not yet possible.

Initially, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Moscow is ready to continue negotiations and allow for a possible summit that "should put a full stop to this process."

Later, the Kremlin said that the summit is only possible after "all issues that require discussion at the highest level are thoroughly worked out."
