A phone call between US President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin will take place on Tuesday, February 18. The call will occur between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Moscow time, RBC-Ukraine reports, citing Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov.

According to Peskov, many of the topics for the conversation between Trump and Putin have already been agreed upon. He also stated that Trump and Putin will "talk as long as they consider necessary."

"It will indeed be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Moscow time. There have been certain discussions. Witkoff was in Moscow, and there were talks in Istanbul. There was also the first phone call between the two Presidents. So, certain understandings are definitely in place. But there are also many issues, including the further normalization of our bilateral relations and the Ukrainian settlement. All of this needs to be discussed by the two Presidents," Peskov said.

Future conversation between Trump and Putin

Late in the evening on March 17, Trump informed that he would hold talks with Putin on March 18 in the morning, Washington time.

The conversation will likely touch on the possible 30-day ceasefire in the Russian-Ukrainian war theater. This is precisely what the US proposed to Ukraine during negotiations in Saudi Arabia.

Afterward, the US delegation traveled to Russia with the same proposal. Putin himself stated that he agrees with the US idea of a ceasefire. However, according to him, there are nuances involved.

Late on March 17, in a conversation with journalists, Trump stated that Russia "will agree" to the 30-day ceasefire with Ukraine.
