India is ready to fully join efforts to resolve the Russian-Ukrainian war, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said this, according to TASS.
"The Indian side is indeed expressing its readiness to make a contribution within its capabilities to resolving the situation around Ukraine," the representative of Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed.
Peskov also publicly acknowledged that New Delhi had already presented Moscow with proposals on ending the Russian-Ukrainian war. Despite this, the Kremlin spokesman did not want to disclose any details for now.
Interestingly, the Hindustan Times recently revealed the contents of India's proposal, citing its own sources.
According to insiders, New Delhi proposed a three-stage ceasefire plan between Russia and Ukraine. It includes:
- Cessation of strikes on energy and other infrastructure;
- Ensuring the unhindered transportation of grain and energy resources through Black Sea ports;
- Cessation of attacks on commercial vessels in the strategically important waters.
Media sources note that India's proposal is more extensive than previous ceasefire plans, including those put forward by Egypt, Türkiye, and the US.
Importantly, it covers not only infrastructure but also commercial shipping, while providing for the preservation of key routes for the supply of goods.
It was also reported that Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar presented the plan to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's team during his visit to Kyiv.
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that India had decided to strengthen its role in peace talks aimed at ending the Russian-Ukrainian war.
The Indian authorities recently publicly urged their citizens not to join the Russian military.
