Kremlin makes first statements on new US-Russia talks in Riyadh

The Kremlin has confirmed that the main topic of talks between Russia and the United States in Saudi Arabia will be the Black Sea initiative, particularly, the safety of navigation, reports the Russian propaganda news agency TASS.
Russian president's press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, said that Vladimir Putin would be immediately informed of the results of the consultations between the parties.
Peskov noted that the Black Sea initiative would be the main topic of today's talks.
The United States also can monitor the implementation of the agreement to prevent attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, which will allow it to draw appropriate conclusions.
Another important aspect is Vladimir Putin's upcoming international phone call in the afternoon. They also discussed the timing of Kim Jong Un's visit to Russia, which will be agreed upon through diplomatic channels.
US-Russia meeting
As it became known the day before, the US delegation at the talks in Riyadh is seeking to conclude an agreement with Russia and Ukraine on a ceasefire in the Black Sea to ensure free navigation.
After meeting with Ukraine on March 23, the US is holding talks with Russia on March 24.
The parties are expected to discuss the line of control and confidence-building measures, including the return of Ukrainian children stolen by Russia. The US delegation is headed by Andrew Peek and Michael Anton, while Russia is represented by Grigory Karasin and Sergey Beseda.
