On the night of August 25, Krasnodar Krai and Rostov regions in Russia once again came under attack. Following explosions in one of the cities, a fire reportedly broke out at an oil refinery, according to Russian Telegram channels and OSINT public pages.

According to the posts, the attack initially targeted the Rostov region. At approximately 02:10, OSINT channels reported that an attack on an oil refinery had allegedly taken place in Novoshakhtinsk. This information has yet to be confirmed, and local authorities have not yet issued any comments.

A little later, at around 03:40, Krasnodar Krai came under attack. In comments on OSINT public pages, Russians reported an attack and explosions, after which a fire broke out near the Afipsky oil refinery.

Local authorities in Krasnodar Krai have not yet specified what exactly happened. Whether it was a drone attack or something else also remains unclear for now.

Krasnodar Krai Governor Veniamin Kondratyev confirmed that an oil refinery was damaged.

"Drone debris fell on the territory of the Afipskaya railway station... A fire also broke out at the oil refinery," he wrote on Telegram.

What else is important to know

On August 14, it became known that since the beginning of August, Ukrainian drones had attacked nearly a third of Russia's major oil refineries.

According to Reuters, on August 21, an oil refinery in Perm temporarily suspended operations. This was due to a fire caused by a debt-related issue, which resulted in damage to technological units.
