North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un has threatened the West with war if there is any aggression toward Russia. He promised Moscow assistance in "defending itself" during his trip to Russia.

The North Korean leader stated that, in the event of a "Western attack" on Russia, he would order the North Korean army to help repel the assault.

"If the United States and their Western lackeys, nuclear states, do not abandon their dangerous idea of military invasion against our brotherly country, the Russian Federation, and attack again, I will gladly and without hesitation order North Korea to use military force to repel the enemy's invasion, in accordance with all provisions and the spirit of the 1945-46 Agreement," Kim Jong Un said.

At the same time, the North Korean dictator described this as a "sacred mission" that North Koreans "must fulfill as brothers and comrades."

It is also worth noting that during this speech, Kim Jong Un justified North Korea's participation in the war against Ukraine.

North Korea's involvement in the war against Ukraine

North Korean troops are directly participating in the war against Ukraine. According to South Korean intelligence, North Korea has already lost more than 4,700 soldiers on the frontlines.

In the fall of 2024, North Korea deployed units to Russia's Kursk region. Recently, Russia publicly confirmed for the first time that North Korean soldiers are fighting against the Ukrainian armed forces. This was also acknowledged by the North Korean government.

In addition to manpower, Pyongyang is supplying Moscow with ammunition, artillery, ballistic missiles, and other weapon systems, which the Russian occupiers are actively using against Ukrainian cities.
