The Russian army struck Kharkiv with Shahed drones overnight on June 25, launching at least seven attacks, according to Kharkiv mayor Ihor Terekhov and head of the Kharkiv regional administration Oleh Syniehubov.

Explosions were heard in Kharkiv shortly after 1:50 AM Kyiv time. The Ukrainian Air Force had earlier reported Shahed drones moving toward the city.

Local authorities confirmed that Shahed drones were targeting Kharkiv. According to the mayor, a civilian facility in the Kyivskyi district was hit.

"Russia launched at least seven strikes on the city. Information on casualties and the extent of the damage is being verified,” said Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, confirming that a facility was struck.

The mayor also reported that an uninhabited residential building in the Kyivskyi district was damaged and caught fire. One person was injured, preliminarily, a 64-year-old man who was hospitalized.

According to the regional administration, one of the strikes hit the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv at 2:25 AM Kyiv time. A three-story building caught fire as a result.

At 2:45 AM Kyiv time, the mayor confirmed that Kharkiv was attacked by seven Shahed drones, all of which struck the Kyivskyi district.

Drone attack

On the evening of June 24, Russian forces launched drones at Kharkiv, with UAVs entering Ukraine from multiple directions.

Russia attempted to attack Vylkove in the Odesa region, where explosions were reported and air defenses were active.

Additionally, Russian forces struck Zaporizhzhia overnight. Regional governor Ivan Fedorov reported shattered windows in residential buildings and damage to cars in one district.
