Russia carried out a massive drone, missile, and bomb attack on Kharkiv on the night of June 7. This was the most powerful strike on the city since the start of the full-scale war.

The most powerful strike

The city mayor, Ihor Terekhov, stated that, according to preliminary counts, the enemy attacked the city with 48 "Shaheds," two missiles, and four guided aerial bombs.

“Kharkiv is currently experiencing the most powerful attack since the start of the full-scale war. As of this moment, within one and a half hours, at least 40 explosions have been heard in the city,” Terekhov wrote late at night on Telegram.

The Prosecutor’s Office reports even higher figures. According to the head of the regional prosecutor’s office, Spartak Borisenko, Russia struck Kharkiv with over 50 drones, four guided aerial bombs, and one missile, likely an X-35.

The head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, says about 53 Shaheds attacked Kharkiv that night.

Damage

Overall, two districts of Kharkiv were hit by the enemy’s attack that night. According to the mayor’s data, damage was recorded to 18 apartment buildings and 13 private houses.

Kyivskyi district

  • According to the Regional Military Administration, as a result of 40 drones, four guided aerial bombs, and a missile hitting an enterprise’s territory, a fire broke out over an area of 10,000 square meters. Hits were recorded in four workshop buildings. People may be trapped under the rubble.

  • It is also known that drones hit a private house, which caught fire, a tree near a two-story building, and the ground, causing an outbuilding to catch fire.

Osnovianskyi district

  • A drone hit a nine-story building. Twelve apartments caught fire on the 7th, 8th, and 9th floors over an area of 600 square meters.

  • A woman was rescued from under the rubble.
  • Two cars also caught fire.

Casualties and injured

As of 8:40 AM Kyiv time, 21 injured people were reported in Kharkiv. Among them is a one-and-a-half-month-old infant and a 14-year-old girl.

As a result of Russia’s massive attack, three residents of Kharkiv died.

Recall that according to the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, that night, Russia launched 206 drones and nine missiles of various types, including ballistic ones. Air Defense forces neutralized 167 drones and shot down seven missiles.

Hits were recorded in 10 locations, and debris fell in 7 locations.

Additionally, during the night, the enemy launched an attack on the Dnipropetrovsk region. In the region, 6 missiles were destroyed, and 27 missiles were launched. The enemy attacked Dnipro and Pavlohrad, causing damage and casualties.
