Key logistics hub hit in Russian city of Novocherkassk

On the night of July 23, a railway infrastructure was attacked in Novocherkassk, Rostov region. This section is used by Russia to transport weapons, ammunition, fuel, and troops to the Ukrainian border, according to Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation.
"This logistics hub connects strategic directions: Rostov-on-Don, Voronezh, Volgograd, and Kamensk-Shakhtinsky. It’s through this hub that military equipment, ammunition, fuel resources, and personnel are moved toward the border with Ukraine," Kovalenko explained.
Also in Novocherkassk, the functioning of logistics units of the 1061st Material and Technical Support Center of Russia’s Southern Military District was recorded. This unit is responsible for the distribution of weapons, fuel, and ammunition.
According to Kovalenko, hubs like Novocherkassk are the arteries that sustain Russia’s war machine. Without them, supplies to the front come to a standstill.
On the night of July 23, 2025, explosions were reported in several Russian regions as a result of a drone attack.
