American actress Jennifer Aniston has opened up about why she doesn't consider adoption—even after years of struggling with infertility—in an interview for the podcast Armchair Expert on Wondery+.

I want my own DNA in a little person

The conversation about children began when co-host Monica Padman shared her experience with egg freezing and her doubts about whether she wanted kids at all.

"It's so peaceful," Aniston replied when asked if she had found inner calm after everything she'd been through.

"But I will say there's a point where it's like out of my control. There's literally nothing I can do about it," the actress said.

She added that people often suggested adoption, but she never felt the desire to do so.

"When people say, 'But you can adopt'—I don't want to adopt. I want my own DNA in a little person. That's the only way, selfish or not, whatever that is, I've wanted it," Jennifer shared.

At the same time, Aniston admitted that she's met people with whom she could imagine having children, but, as she put it, that feeling passes "within three seconds."

The star noted that her outlook has changed over time, and she now approaches the topic more calmly.

"It just wasn't in the plan, whatever the plan was. It's very emotional, especially in the moment when they say 'that's it', because there is a weird moment when that happens," she said.

This isn't the first time Aniston has spoken candidly about motherhood. Back in 2022, in an interview with Allure magazine, she revealed that she had undergone IVF treatments, though she never became pregnant.

She emphasized that she has no regrets about that chapter of her life.
