The US may withdraw from mediation between Ukraine and Russia. Vice President JD Vance said he expects a positive response from the parties.

The United States is ready to withdraw from the mediation process between Russia and Ukraine if it does not receive a positive response to its proposal.

“We will withdraw from mediating between Russia and Ukraine if we do not receive a positive response. We have presented a clear and fair proposal to both the Russians and Ukrainians,” Vance said.

The American side has not yet disclosed any details about the content of the proposal.

Negotiations on the war in Ukraine

Ukraine and Russia are not directly negotiating over the war in Ukraine. The negotiation process continues with the mediation of the United States. Washington uses the shuttle diplomacy for negotiations.

The US expects the Ukrainian side to respond to such a peace plan on April 23.

The Western media write that a one-page document that the US presented to Ukrainian officials in Paris last week describes such conditions as Trump's “final offer.”

Also, President Donald Trump recently said that the United States could stop participating in negotiations to end Russia's war against Ukraine if one of the parties impedes peace.
