Japanese woman lived to age 116: She ate these two dishes every day
Tomiko Itooka, a Japanese woman who was the oldest person in the world according to the Guinness Book of World Records, has died at the age of 116 on December 29 at a nursing home in Ashiya, Hyogo Prefecture, central Japan. Mirror reports what products helped the woman to live to 116 years old.

When she was told that she was ranked first in the world's supercentenarians, she simply replied: “Thank you.”
Last year, Ms. Itooka celebrated her birthday and received flowers, cake, and a card from the mayor.
Tomiko was born in Osaka, she played volleyball in high school and was always very energetic.
She has climbed Mount Ontake, a 10,062-foot mountain, twice.
The Japanese woman got married at the age of 20 and had two daughters and two sons. Mrs. Itooka managed the office of her husband's textile factory during World War II. She lived alone in Nara after her husband's death in 1979.
She had a son and daughter, and five grandchildren. The funeral took place among family and friends.
According to the Gerontology Research Group, the oldest person in the world is now 116-year-old Brazilian nun Inah Canabarro Lucas, who was born 16 days after Ms. Itooka.
What the long-lived woman liked to eat
Tomiko was very fond of bananas and tried to eat them more often, and she could not imagine her life without yogurt.
