'Japanese air conditioner' to quickly save you from heat
The heatwave continues, with temperatures in some areas reaching up to 40°C. Due to power outages in Ukraine, not everyone has access to air conditioners and fans to cool down. However, there is a solution – the so-called "Japanese air conditioner," and it is easy to make.
'Japanese air conditioner'
The "Japanese air conditioner" or anti-scarf is a simple way to cope with the summer heat. All you need is a thin scarf that you soak in cold water and tie around your neck.
The damp fabric absorbs heat from your body, evaporating moisture and lowering your body temperature. This method helps you cool down in hot weather and also recover after a workout.
You can also use the "Japanese air conditioner" to cool drinks in a bottle. For example, instead of a scarf, you can use a towel or even toilet paper, but the cooling time may increase, and you might need to repeat the process several times to achieve the desired result.

This method is also recommended by famous Ukrainian Dr. Yevhen Komarovskyi. He explained that there are large blood vessels in the neck. Therefore, a damp scarf or handkerchief can ease your condition and prevent overheating.
"A person in the heat, with a damp scarf around their neck, will feel relief for sure," the doctor says.
