Italy seizes assets of Russian businessman at Ukraine's request - Media
Italy has arrested the assets of businessman Alexey Fedorychev. Nearly $45 million was seized at the request of the Ukrainian Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, according to Corriere Fiorentino and Reuters.
In Ukraine, Fedorychev is suspected of illegally obtaining port fees.
The Russian millionaire is the president of the Monaco basketball club. He owns the historic Torre del Gallo castle in Florence and is a co-owner of the TIS company, which owns docks in Ukrainian ports.
The Italian prosecutor's office reported, without naming the individual, that a Russian businessman is under investigation in a case involving fraud against a Ukrainian state company engaged in selling agricultural products, bribery of public officials, and money laundering.
It is worth noting that last year, Fedorychev announced that the TIS company would allocate $400,000 to protect the Odesa region from Shaheds.
As of 2020, the TIS group of terminals was the largest stevedoring operator in Ukraine. The group includes five terminals: "TIS-Vuhillya," "TIS-Ruda," "TIS-Zerno," "TIS-Mineralni Dobryva," and "TIS-Konteynerny Terminal." In 2019, the group's cargo turnover exceeded 33 million tons.
