Italy aims to sustain support for Ukraine beyond arms supply, MFA says
Italy wants to continue supporting Ukraine in all aspects, not just with arms deliveries, states the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy, Antonio Tajani.
"Italy wants to continue supporting Ukraine from all perspectives, not just with arms deliveries," he stated.
The minister adds that Ukraine also needs assistance aimed at the needs of the civilian population.
"We will see when the eighth package is discussed from the Italian side. We must help the suffering civilian population, especially with winter approaching," said Tajani.
He also mentions that Italy has not "signed" contracts under the European plan for supplying ammunition to Ukraine.
Italy's assistance
After the shelling of Odesa by Russian terrorists at the end of July, Italy pledged to assist in the restoration of the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral. Due to the shelling by occupiers, the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral was partially destroyed.
