President of the United States, Donald Trump, called the shooting at Florida State University (in Tallahassee, Florida) a "shame". He also stated that he is unlikely to push for changes in the country's gun legislation, according to CNN.

“Look, I’m a big advocate of the Second Amendment, that happened from the beginning. I protected it, and these things are terrible, but the gun doesn’t do the shooting, the people do,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office when signing unrelated executive orders.

As CNN reports, during his first presidential term, Trump suggested he would be open to expanding background checks for firearm purchases. However, he later backed away from those comments.
