In an address to the nation from his office, Herzog said he supports "the prime minister and the negotiating team for its efforts to reach a deal".

He said that the Security Cabinet and the full cabinet, which are expected to vote on the framework tomorrow, must approve the deal to "to bring our sons and daughters home".

According to Herzog, there is no higher Jewish value than returning prisoners home.

The agreement between Israel and Hamas

Israel has reached an agreement with Hamas militants regarding the Gaza Strip. Under the agreement, Hamas has committed to gradually releasing Israeli hostages. The first stage involves the release of 33 hostages. In total, Hamas may be holding 94 individuals.

It is now known that the Israeli army (IDF) is preparing to receive the hostages released by Hamas. The operation is called Sparrow Wings. As US President Joe Biden has already stated, the agreement between Israel and Hamas will stop the fighting in the Gaza Strip.
