Israeli President compares Hamas to ISIS, calls on world to recognize them as terrorists
President of Israel, Isaac Herzog, equated the invasion by Palestinian militants to the actions of the Islamic State (ISIS) and called on world leaders to recognize Hamas as a terrorist organization, according to his statement on Twitter.
According to the Israeli leader, since the Holocaust, so many Jews haven't been killed in a single day as during the Hamas attack. He adds that since those times, they haven't witnessed scenes of Jewish women and children, grandparents being forced into trucks and taken as hostages.
"Hamas has imported, adopted, and replicated the savagery of ISIS. Entering civilian homes on a holy day, and murdering in cold blood, whole families. Young and old. Violating and burning bodies. Beating and torturing their innocent victims. The barbarity of monsters – not humans – monsters," said Isaac Herzog.

Hamas attack on Israel
On October 7th, Hamas militants infiltrated Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip. Initially, they managed to capture several populated areas, but by evening, Israeli forces had regained control of most of the territory and launched strikes in response on military targets and Hamas headquarters.
Israel declared a "state of war" and initiated the counter-terrorism operation Operation "Iron Swords."
During the first two days of the war, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) struck thousands of targets in the Gaza Strip. However, the Israeli military command emphasizes that this was just the beginning, as the IDF intends to destroy Hamas completely.
Today, Netanyahu said that Israel was in the midst of a battle, and the country was aiming to change the Middle East, but the future fight required time.
